Riot of Colors had the privilege of designing exclusive tour merchandise for Arrested Development, the two-time Grammy-winning band.
Known for their powerful blend of hip-hop and social commentary, Arrested Development’s message of social change and unity was a perfect match for our creative approach. To capture the essence of the band’s artistry, we opted for non-traditional design elements that would stand out in a crowded market of typical tour merch.
Drawing inspiration directly from the band’s iconic videos, we captured screen grabs on film, printed them, scanned them, and manipulated the artwork by hand to create a nostalgic, retro aesthetic. This allowed us to maintain the integrity of the band’s visual identity while adding an innovative twist.
The final designs were a celebration of both the band’s cultural impact and the unique story they tell through their music, ensuring fans didn’t just leave with a shirt, but with a piece of history.
