Riot of Colors is proud to present “Fishfooooddd,” a Nickelodeon bumper that packs humor, chaos, and creativity into an unforgettable 10-second story. From concept to execution, Riot of Colors developed the storyboards, script, and creative direction for this quirky and visually engaging piece, collaborating with Eduardo R., whose exceptional clay animation brought the eccentric goldfish to life. Together, we created a fast-paced, universally appealing bumper that captures Nickelodeon’s playful, irreverent identity.
The Story: Humor Meets Chaos
Set in a messy, colorful kid’s desk scene—complete with scattered crayons, spilled slime, and a murky fishbowl—the bumper introduces a bug-eyed clay goldfish with one goal: catching the lazy fly buzzing above its bowl. Through three escalating attempts, the goldfish leaps with determination and increasing clumsiness, delivering laugh-out-loud moments at every turn:
- The First Leap: A splashy miss that soaks the chaotic desk in water.
- The Second Attempt: A dramatic jump that lands the goldfish precariously on the edge of the bowl before it flops back into the water.
- The Final Leap: An overly ambitious launch that ends with a wet splat on the desk—a comedic crescendo that ties the narrative together.
As the camera pans out, the orange splatter morphs into the iconic Nickelodeon logo, seamlessly connecting the humor and chaos to the brand’s fun, imaginative spirit. The buzzing fly escapes offscreen, leaving viewers with a smile and a sense of Nickelodeon’s lighthearted charm.
Creative Collaboration
Riot of Colors played a pivotal role in shaping “Fishfooood” from concept to completion. We crafted the storyboards to ensure each frame delivered maximum impact, wrote the script to bring humor and heart to the visual narrative, and directed the creative vision to align with Nickelodeon’s bold and playful brand identity. The clay animation, masterfully executed by Eduardo R., added an authentic, tactile charm, giving the goldfish a personality that’s both quirky and relatable.
