Concept:
“I Voted” stickers are typically generic and overlooked, so we set out to create a design that not only serves as a civic reminder but also as a keepsake. Our goal was to produce a sticker that captures the spirit of Prince William County, VA, while celebrating voter participation in a way that’s meaningful and visually engaging.

Design:
The redesigned “I Voted” sticker features hand-drawn, iconic landmarks from Prince William County, VA, intricately illustrated to reflect the county’s unique character. These landmarks are framed by the text “I Voted – Prince William County, VA,” making it a personal and region-specific statement. The artwork aims to make the sticker something you’d want to proudly display beyond the usual placements, showcasing local pride and the importance of civic participation.

Challenges:
One of the main challenges was integrating the hand-drawn landmarks into a cohesive design that felt both artistic and recognizable. While honoring the aesthetic of local landmarks, we had to ensure the “I Voted” message was still prominent and clear. Another challenge was balancing intricate details with legibility, ensuring the sticker would be visually appealing without overcrowding the design.

Vision:
Our vision for this sticker was to create a piece that voters would not only wear with pride but also keep as a souvenir from their participation in democracy. By highlighting local landmarks, the design fosters a sense of community and connection to Prince William County. We aimed to elevate the traditional “I Voted” sticker into something voters would love to display on their laptops, water bottles, or other personal items, symbolizing pride in both their vote and their community.
