As wearables took off, luxury lagged. We set out to design a Gucci “personal assistant” that matched the polish of the brand while leaping beyond what Samsung Gear, Motorola Moto 360, and the then-upcoming Apple Watch offered.
The concept paired Gucci’s signature aesthetics with a simple, glanceable interface that synced with both iOS and Android, letting users check meetings, read/send emails and texts, see the weather, and place calls in a tap or two. The touchscreen was sized to work with existing Gucci watchbands to avoid the bulk common at the time, and the UI offered customizable themes for personal expression, fashion first, friction last.
The challenge was balancing true luxury with true utility: a compact, comfortable form that felt timeless yet housed modern capability, plus seamless cross-platform integration that remained intuitive for non-tech-savvy users.
Our vision was a wearable that functioned as an elegant extension of the wearer’s lifestyle, equally at home in a boardroom or on a night out—setting a new standard for luxury tech by blending enduring Gucci design with always-connected smarts.
